A visit to Australia wouldn't be complete without spending a few days enjoying the country's major theme parks, Sea World, Dreamworld, Wet 'n' Wild and Movie World. PLUS, you don't necessarily need children to enjoy all the fun of the rides!
Located in the "Gold Coast" area in the state of Queensland, on the Australian East Coast, these four theme parks provide an enormous amount of entertainment for young AND old.
DREAM WORLD
If roller coasters and adrenalin are what you're after, Dreamworld is for you. The place is packed full of heart-stopping fun rides with names such as "The Wipeout", The Tower Of Terror", "The Claw" and "The Giant Drop".
SEA WORLD
Usually,
marine theme parks are a little more sedate, but THIS one has a super-dooper, double-looper roller coaster, just in case you need an adrenalin hit. Among the main attractions, you can watch dolphin shows, feed seals, dive with sharks, stroke dolphins and meet polar bear cubs.
MOVIE WORLD
Don't be surprised if you see Marilyn Monroe, Batman, Bugs Bunny and Austin Powers when you visit to this fun park. The movie star lookalikes travel all over Movie World, providing visitors with a great opportunity to snap that unforgettable picture with their favorite star, in between watching the numerous movie-themed shows which continue throughout the day.
WET 'N' WILD
It's no coincidence that these theme parks are located in one of the warmer areas of Queensland, Australia, as there's no better way to cool off than to head out to the aptly named "Wet 'n' Wild". Even if it wasn't a warm day, the water is heated to 26 degrees celcius (about 75F). This theme park is overflowing with fun rides such as "The Whirlpool Hot Springs", "The Twister", "The Screamer" and "Terror Canyon" with many rides based around water slides offering various degrees of adrenalin inducing action.
